Ryn's Rambles

Best Intro Videos For My Top YouTube Channels

So I wanted a reason to ramble on about my favourite channels on YouTube. I mainly subscribe to horror, paranormal and gaming content channels.

I enjoy scaring the utter crap out of myself then convincing myself that the harmless shadows in my room are really just shadows and not demons or ghosts and I start to see things. This is normally the point where I turn to the harmless gaming channel content to take my mind of the demons.

I have 4 main channels that I switch between; I go to them to decompress on rough days especially when my mental health decides to take a spectacular swan dive into the unknown vale. Anytime my mind is getting too loud, I can use these channels to stop it and honestly, they never fail. They all help on the nights where things are too loud in my head, just watching one of their videos can help me relax enough to fall asleep. Which I need often as my mind enjoys torturing me when it is bedtime.

The amazing people behind these channels let the unique and brilliant personalities shine through their content making the viewer truly feel as if they are part of this wild journey! It is what makes me love them so much! You can feel how much they are enjoying their content just as much as you enjoy watching it.

So I’ll talk about each channel, how I found them, what makes me love them so much and the best part; one video I think is a good ‘starter’ video (as of writing this) and one playlist I think is a good ‘starter’ playlist (as of writing this). I appreciate these people so much for making the content they do! Also, these are in alphabetical order, not preference order. I can’t organise them in preference order. They are all number one.

Daz Games

Daz Games is a channel owned by Daz Black, in which Daz does a series called Daz Watches where Daz will watch videos that are sent to him in a fabulously, dazzlingly fashion. Before this marvellous invention, Daz started his channel with games, hence the name funnily enough. Daz started the channel after having success on Vine and continued to grow on YouTube after the unfortunate fall of Vine.

I found Daz in late 2014/early 2015 while sitting at the dining table with my sisters. One of my sisters had shown me this guy with bubbles all over his face like some nightmares marshmallow talking in a high melodic voice that only made the whole ordeal creepier. But, you know what? It was hilarious! After one creepier video, I was hooked on this Tea Party guy in a pink hat!

Since then it’s pretty much been every time a video of his comes out, I watch it, or sometimes when life gets a little busy but I know I have a week off then binge-watch everything that has pilled up!

Over the years Daz has done many series and videos which makes it hard to choose a single ‘favourite’ so what I’ll do is I’ll talk about a video I often return to that I enjoy. One of a game and one from Daz Watches.

These videos are my most recent “comfort” videos. I watch them at night, winding down at night, and just letting go of the day.

This video is a video I was a mess watching. I was laughing so hard I couldn’t breathe, hear or see! My eyes were overflowing with tears, my head hurt that way it gets when you laugh so hard and I couldn’t stop laughing long enough to take a breath. If you are looking for a good laugh then this is the video to watch! However, if you are wanting a good gaming horror video to watch then this one is one of the many great ones! Just give it a go!

Now for a Daz Watches!

Daz VS Toddlers & Tiaras. Honestly, brilliant. I think Daz has done three videos on the show and each of them is brilliant. I can’t say much more than that, to be honest!

Oh, nearly forgot a playlist! Ummmm…Here!

The series that got me hooked on his YouTube content, Outlast! If you’ve not heard of Outlast it is a horror game set in an asylum that has been evacuated and now the patients are running loose around the place. You, as an investigative journalist, go to get the story with a camera in hand not realising that soon you’ll be trapped inside with the patients.

GrayStillPlays

Gray. What can I say about this guy other than he is the literal definition of chaos itself? Gray is a guy from Florida who plays games but not in the way they are meant to be played. As he has said his channel mission is ‘No Survivors’.  He plays a game and picks the most chaotic way to play it from actively trying to push a game to its limit and see how far it goes until it breaks, all the way to trying to think of the craziest thing that could be accomplished in the game. And then there is when he plays The Sims 4 which honestly is brilliant. It’s pretty much the Hunger Games but with Sims and a pool.

I found Gray’s channel through pure chance! I wanted to have a video playing in the background while I was making dinner. So I wasn’t looking for something I would pay attention to that much. Let’s just say, it failed.

This was the video that started it all. I only saw an angry sim and thought ‘yeah, this looks good’. Boy, it was so much better! It is basically who can survive the longest, while Gray watches Sims fail at staying alive. There are plenty more of these types of videos including the various ways that Gray uses to test the Sims ability to fight for survival and torture himself in the process.

Now, Happy Wheels is a game that I am convinced was made as a result of someone’s fever dream but it is glorious. Add Gray and Happy Wheels together and you get an amazing combination of videos that is sure to either make you question your own sanity for watching it or the sanity of Gray and the people who made these levels.

Enjoy this playlist!

NukesTop5

Nuke posts countdown videos of scary & paranormal videos the pop up on the internet or are sent into him. There is one major thing about Nuke’s channel that I love and that is I haven’t seen any of the clips shown on his channel before. I used to watch a load of spooky countdown channels before and they would all really recycle the same clips that I had already seen.

Another thing is the channels I used to watch would give information about the video but would be a bit bland about it if you get what I mean. Whereas with Nuke there is some personality thrown into the videos and thats makes it so much more fun to watch!

Now all of Nukes videos are good and scare the crap out of me anytime I watch them. For a starter video, I’m not too sure which one is the best to start with so I thought that the one he posted to round up 2019 would be the best one. It has more clips in it so it gives a bit more content but also has clips that still to this day stick with me.

So, Nuke only has three playlists so I’ll link the Ghost playlist as it is my favourite!

Twin Paranormal

Twin Paranormal is a channel based in the US where twins, Ryan and River, go to haunted locations with their friends, Nik and Wyatt, looking for evidence of the paranormal.

I have only recently found their channel thanks to them being featured on NukesTop5 in which the clips I have seen I wanted to see more. Once I started to watch one video of there I realised that not only are their video spooky as hell but they also feel authentic. Not to mention the chemistry between them all is that of a family. (Yes, obviously Ryan and River would have that chemistry being brothers but I mean between all four of them.) Even though it is scary and they are being serious they show the moments when they are having a joke with each other.

One thing that truly shocked me when I went to their channel was the quality VS quantity of videos. That is honestly the only way I can describe it for now, sorry. What I am meaning is they haven’t got a lot of paranormal videos on their channel yet they have such amazing quality on each and every video. You are truly immersed in their world when you watch them. Honestly, I love their content that much that I created a Patreon account just so I could be a patron of theirs. I don’t want them to stop making videos simply because they didn’t have the means to plus imagine if they could go further!

Since Twin Paranormal does a series for each location they go to and not an individual video I’m just going to link to two series I think are good.

So this one is the Clean Water Demon House. This one scared the hell out of me when I first saw it. I don’t know what it is about this location but it just creeps me out the whole time!

This next one is a whole bag of nopes but in all the good ways! From the moment they park to the end, it gives me the heebee-geebees. There is just something about the location that makes my entire being say nope. However, it is such a great series!

Honourable Mentions

So there you go! Some videos and playlists I recommend from my favourite YouTube channels.

I constantly just go between them on which channel I am going to watch. It depends on what I am feeling like watching but it will normally be something from one of these channels. They all definitely deserve lots of love sent their way!
